NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) approach to protecting children is based on a commitment to implement the United Nations Convention on Rights of the Child (UNCRC). It reflects the national child protection legislation and guidance (National Guidance for Child Protection 2023) and implements the Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) principles.

The Public Protection Service offers advice to all NHSGGC staff including our independent contractors in relation to Child Protection and Adult Support & Protection. This is for all children up to the age of 18 years.
